Terminal Trump derangement syndrome
Like a lot of people, I had hoped that after the
election result of 2016, completely unforeseen by the media, the pollsters and
even the bookies, the media, who had largely acted as chaperones and megaphones
for Hillary Clinton, would stop, pause, and reflect on how they could possibly
have done their jobs so badly.
How wrong I was. If anything, all signs suggest that
the media has doubled down on their dishonesty and completely partisan
‘reporting’.
On Trump, the media and their Democratic accomplices
have moved from a mild case of Trump derangement syndrome during the Republican
Primaries to now a terminal version of it. Not only do they not care about
hiding their bias and hatred for the man, they have gone around the bend to
indulge in the most conspiratorial and inept attacks on the sitting President.
This is hardly to say that Trump is perfect – the man
has many, many flaws and he incessantly shows these to the public. But Trump
has always been Trump, a billionaire businessman who has been in the media eye
for decades. However, it seems suddenly, the media has had an epiphany on who
he ‘really is’ only after he got into the White House.
Just with Trump’s recent diagnosis of COVID-19, we’ve
had all manner of conspiracies pushed out by pundits across the liberal media
machine. We’ve had claims by MSNBC’s Joy
Reid and others that Trump faked
the coronavirus diagnosis to gain sympathy. We’ve had senior CNN analyst Joe
Johns suggesting Trump is sicker than he is letting on.
Elsewhere, senior Democrats like Joe
Biden, who compared Trump to Nazi propagandist Goebbels,
and Nancy
Pelosi, who likened federal law enforcement used by the
Trump administration to protect a federal courthouse from rioters in Portland
‘Stormtroopers’, grudgingly
and no doubt resentfully wished
him well.
Other Democrats, unbridled by the spotlight but none
the wiser for it, like Zara Rahim, former Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama
staffer, tweeted that she
“hope he dies”. A former staffer for Democrat Elizabeth Warren, Max
Berger, hyperventilated “Trump did this to himself. He
inflicted this same misfortune upon millions of others. He’s a corrupt, white supremacist criminal who’s responsible for more American deaths than 9/11 and
the wars in Vietnam, Korea, Iraq and WWI combined.” He obviously forgot to add
eugenicist and pedophile in his litany.
When Trump, in his mid-70’s, overweight and male, all
risk factors for the coronavirus, shook it off after a mere three days, much to
the chagrin of Ms Rahim and Mr Berger, new rounds of pearl-clutching began.
When Trump rode around in a car to greet his
supporters who were camping outside the hospital, CNBC
screeched that he is endangering the lives of secret service members. When Trump
returned to the White House and took off his mask on the balcony for a photo-op,
miles from anyone, CNN host John
Berman swooned that “he’s going to kill people!” This is the
same media that has been silent on the daily riots and looting under the guise of protest by tens of thousands
of people around the country for months.
Nancy
Pelosi, not to be outdone, suggested that White House staff
should stage an “intervention”, because in her medical opinion, something was
“wrong” with Trump after the virus. While the octogenarian
Pelosi and the 78 year old Biden
are never questioned by the media about their frequent erratic displays of
subnormal behaviors.
The media has forgone all self-respect in the
desperate attempt to smear Trump with an ‘ism’, and the many baseless charges radiate
out to those around Trump. The new Supreme Court Justice nominee, Amy Coney
Barrett, has received some of this mud being slung by the rabid media.
Barrett had received a ‘well
qualified’ rating from a substantial majority of the ABA Standing
Committee on the Federal Judiciary. She has five biological children, one of
whom has Down syndrome, and two adopted children from Haiti, the younger of
whom she and her husband adopted after the devastating Haitian earthquake in
2010. If nothing else, she exemplifies the modern woman who has managed to
balance what must be a demanding home life with stellar achievements in her chosen
vocation.
Yet, Ibram
Kendi, race hustler and darling of the media, saw fit to
suggest that she somehow is a ‘white colonizer’ for adopting two black
children. And despite all her achievements, people dressed in the outfit of the
women from the by now highly clichéd Handmaid’s
Tale protested outside Capitol Hill to oppose this
high-achieving woman from attaining the highest rank in the US judicial system.
Trump himself of course had the best for himself. When
the plot to kidnap Governor Whitmer of Michigan was uncovered, Whitmer
accused Trump of encouraging the would-be kidnappers. Except a video
soon surfaced of one of the accused, with an anarchy flag behind
him, stating that Trump is “a tyrant” and an “enemy”.
All these lies and spin and mental gymnastics by the
media and the Democrats in the last few weeks alone. With a media this
terminally ill with the Trump derangement syndrome, the outcome of the election
is up for anyone’s guess. But what's not up for speculation is the deterioration of the Republic at the hands of 'journalists' who has more degrees than sense, and less experience than tweets.
